Ash's Pikachu SOLOS Your Verse

This damn electric mouse might just be one of the most iconic mascots in all of media, period. If you don't know Pokémon, you at the very least know about this little guy, also known as Pikachu, aka the son of Arceus, aka the world's biggest fraud. I'm just kidding about the last part, but, seriously, over the years Pikachu has had some serious highs and serious lows. With enough time finally passing after Ash's conclusion, I wanted to go ahead and see where Ash's Pikachu in retrospect actually scales. Is he this legendary slayer that could unironically smack Thragg or Frieza away if he wanted to, or is this guy unironically a Snivy victim and can't even break out of dog cages? To first see how strong Pikachu really is, I think we need to go over his journey throughout the series in terms of power, as the anime does have some decent power creep. I'd say Ash's first real show of strength with Pikachu was against Drake's Dragonite, though if I'm being honest, Ash had to wear him down pretty badly before securing this W, but it was still a good feat nonetheless. Dragonites themselves in lore should be physically superior to at the very worst Pupitars, which I mean, hey, Pikachu has actually whooped Tyranitars before, so we can still scale Ash to Pokémon like Pupitar, who's capable of using its thrash attack to total entire mountains.Ash's Pikachu was capable of fighting Elite 4-level Pokémon. Not only was he able to damage Agatha's Gengar, but Ash himself went on to beat Brandon, who's far above the other Frontier Brains who’re already as strong as Agatha. Ash in this battle actually seemed like he was going to win before that Hypnosis BS, but I digress. Ash's Pikachu goes from going blow for blow with a member of the Elite Four to then defeating Brandon, who's a tier beyond this. The Pokemon Pikachu defeated to earn Ash the win was a Regice, who's a part of the same trio capable of at least harming Regigas. Pikachu during Sinnoh definitely gets humbled a bit, but in my opinion, this is where Ash starts getting really skilled. Pikachu is legit able to combat Pokémon in close quarters with Iron Tail alone and is able to utilize insane defensive moves like the Counter Shield, a move that works both as defense and offense equally. Against Paul, Pikachu never quite was able to get the spotlight, but he made up for it when he was able to stalemate with Tobias’ Latios. Latios is a Pokémon of an insane caliber, with its main attack being a legit burst of light that Pikachu can react to. It should also be noted that Pokémon at this point are all just weaving lightspeed moves, and we see it especially in this season when Staraptor dodges a point-blank solar beam, an attack that uses sunlight. Ash also did contribute to intervening with Dialga and Palkia, but he was being aided by Cynthia. Still, though, a pretty crazy feat for the Yellow Rat nonetheless, as these are gods bending space and time with ease. Speaking of which, in Kalos we know that Ash not only mogged on a Tyranitar, which can crush mountains casually and affect the entire planet with its earthquakes. But of course he actually doesn't perform badly against Dianthas Gardevoir. Pikachu would get access to what’s called "Z Moves," which is pretty much if Pokémon could pop Ults. Pikachu's is called 10,000,000 Volts, which is just an upgraded Thunderbolt. But with this move he was able to obliterate Merged Lusamine. And we saw this version of Ash eventually defeating Tapu Koko and claiming his first championship. We also know in non-canon movies around this time he was scrapping with Zeraora and Marshadow briefly, which is just honestly too cool for me not to include. It doesn’t add anything but hype and aura, but hey, who cares? Now the Masters 8 is honestly where I’d say Pikachu's scaling really is at its dumbest. But before that, we need to talk about Pikachu's insane resume even before entering the tournament. You see, the Masters 8 are officially the 8 strongest trainers across the world who compete to see who’s the true number one in the world. I do think there are other characters that didn’t make it that could’ve definitely made it, but at the very least the champions of the main regions are all in this group. This would include not only Diantha's Gardevoir, who we went over, but also Alain, Steven, and Cynthia. You see, all of their aces are able to fight legendaries, specifically legendaries that can threaten the very planet, like Zygarde, Groudon, and Kyogre. Ash beats up Metagross with Pikachu, and Alain gets mid-diffed by Leone, whom Pikachu ends up beating in a much more intense battle. It’s safe to say Ashes Pikachu at the very worst is mogging on your favorite Viltrumite and just might be strong enough to beat the Z Fighters + the big 3 if the writers let him.
