Ash VS Yugi WON’T Be Close

Now when Death Battle ends up talking about something I have some knowledge on and says something horrendous, 9 times out of 10 you’re going to hear me and Godspeed get on the mic. But today, I wanted to instead talk about the potential arguments they’re going to use, how they’re going to go about judging the winner, and who the winner will inevitably be. So enjoy me and Godspeed fight with a Yugi type Pokemon team vs a Dream Team of Ashes aces. Considering as well this has been a well requested matchup for years at this point. They haven’t had the chance to talk about anything regarding both universes, so we in fact will probably see things like Infinite Powered God Cards, or statements and lore from the monsters within the games or anime. This goes without saying for the Pokemon side, with more than likely the entire Anime up to Journeys, Pokemon Adventures, and pretty much any big feats from the main line games, are all going to be taken into account, this already is a major problem, more so for Pokemon rather than Yugioh. You see all things considered, the Yugioh Anime Manga and Games all have pretty relatively large scale stupidly high, with of course the description of the lore behind the cards sometimes in the games. This is all because of a fun little gimmick called Shadow Games, where we quite literally see the Cards come to life and directly attack the user. So for those who are going to give the whole “it’s just a card game” argument, yeah this is just completely thrown out the window. Now there are cases where how the game functions in the anime being simply different than how you’re actually supposed to play it, however I don’t think this inherently changes the scaling for Yugi. My main worry is factoring in not only them simply ignoring how certain cards work because of it simply being different in the anime to real life like Time Wizard. In contrast to someone like Ash who rather than getting nerfed from something like these different continuities , he’d actually get buffed more than anything. For example, beings like full powered Zygarde in the anime scale much differently than in the games, especially given the added lore in Legends ZA. Zygarde at his peak is unironically one of the most powerful legendaries, with him exceeding well beyond at the very worst, Planetary. Compare this to Zygarde who in the anime at full power, simply threatened the entire planet. It seems as well generally speaking, legendary Pokemon can fight one another. This is shown to us in the Hoopa film where we literally see all the box art legendaries, Dialga and Palkia included, just fighting each other. Mind you no matter the continuity you’re talking about, these 2 legendaries I just mentioned are simply just known as the creators of time and space itself. These 2 guys are getting rocked by Rayquaza, the same guy who’s only really known for disrupting two legendaries that threaten the planet themselves. Another big example of this is Ash in Sun and moon legit one tapping Merged Lusamine in the anime, who in the manga only was taking hits from Dawn Wings Necrozma. Ash’s Pokemon are dodging lightning bolts and Sun rays like it’s just the next gym battle and consistently react to legendary Pokemon but Yugi’s monsters are a bit hard pressed for the calculatable feats Death Battle loves so much. I see them mentioning Kaiba’s Blue-Eyes traveling to space to blow up a satellite and maybe Summoned Skull’s lightning attacks as well. If we’re lucky we’ll at least get them comparing Yugi’s monsters to Neos’s MFTL travel speed feats in Yugioh GX. When it comes to hax, Yugi will probably have the advantage. They may just give him every millennium item which can do things like read and control minds, see the future and even destroy souls. Not to say that Ash hasn’t dealt with his fair share they’ll probably bring up his resistances to his verse’s own mind manipulators and elemental attacks. Ash as well is someone clearly physically built different as well, which might factor into the actual fight considering they did this for the pokemon vs digimon matchup. He’s caught blazing Flamewheels that have legit put Ursaring on their ass. He takes lighting from pikachu constantly even if we all laughed at it as a kid, Ash even decides to throw hands with Mewtwo after all hope is lost. If it comes down to this and it's just straight up Ash vs Yugi, Death Battle more than likely is going to give Ash the W here. Although we have seen Joey survive Rah's blows, we do know that when you're dueling you have some kind of spirit or aura that obviously wouldn't be emitting if they engage in fists. This is what's called Duel Energy later on in GX or Bain Duel Monsters.
