So, here's something a bit special that I've made to specifically cater my nostalgia.
When I was a kid, I didn't actually get to own an original NES. Instead, I owned several of those Chinese clones you'd find in flea markets that claim to have a list of 100000 games in 1, but in reality they were just 20 games repeated over and over.
On those cheap devices, you'd find the obvious classics like Super Mario. However, there was another game in there that holds a special place in my heart to this day: Star Soldier, made by Hudson (the Bomberman people) in 1986, which I always give credit as the game that managed to spark my interest towards the shmup genre.
So yeah, considering that today it's been exactly 40 years since its original Japanese release, I decided to arrange the entirety of its soundtrack. Overall, I'm very pleased with how it came out. My favorite part has to be the power-up theme, which... it really blows my mind that it still happens to be an earworm after all these years, haha.
Enjoy!

![(Commission) While I Breathe, I Hope
Music commission for the same anonymous client of the previous one Ive created last month.
Taking that into account, this song is for the squad the characters working with. While it still maintains the same retro anime feeling, this time I composed a theme with a more determined, military-esque vibe to it. Ive also thrown a few leitmotifs to the previous song; the client liked that, to the point he said they demonstrate how his character is the heart of the crew.
...unrelated, but this song genuinely gives me strong Previously, on [anime name]... vibes. I cant be the only one, right? (Commission) While I Breathe, I Hope](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/CqDesmKAmVw/mqdefault.jpg)

![(Original) A Thunderstorm from the Outside World [東方雷秘儀 ~ SitHA OST]
This is the Title Screen theme.
Title themes are usually laid-back, but considering the current circumstances where Gensokyo is at stake of being ravaged by an unknown threat, I composed something more menacing.
The singing voice says “Rain falls in the Dream”, by the way. I initially wanted to record that line by myself, but singing isn’t my forte. Regardless, I was still pleased by its inclusion. After all, the digitized speech gives the song a more Outside World-esque feeling than usual.
