Well at least there's more curveballs this early in the game.
Anyways, more impressions. They seem to start mix and matching even more now with these bosses. And I quite like that ailments are much more accessible as a strategy when compared to the previous versions. Now don't get me wrong, ailments are viable to multiple Gatekeepers in the previous versions but in many cases, you'd have to go out of your way in fusing in order to utilize said strategies. In this case though, the base kits of the party members is more than enough for this. And I quite like that.
In terms of the guardians of this block themselves, many seem to be throwbacks to the original guardians but now with remixing on their part. For example, the analog for the Intrepid Knight specializes in Pierce damage now (Instead of wind). And can't be hit with the usual Rage strategy. There is one Guardian that I do not recall being present before as an enemy in the previous versions and it didn't have a weakness that I could exploit at the moment (All of these are first try. But I reload to study them in some cases). Hopefully those becomes more frequent.
I seem to unable to see the actual need to use Theurgias at the moment for these. Maybe I'll find a genuine use case for them later on in the game.
Sadly though, when I started to reload and study these bosses, the moves they do seem to be deterministic. Like the Arcana Priestess boss fight. I really hope this is not a general trend for bosses in this game.
