I barely have enough space in my room in order to be able to make this playable, but bloody hell am I happy that it is. While I show off a mode certain to make your arms ache like hell after running it a couple of times, the whole menu thing is the ace in the hole. It's like Meccano but with RIS rails.
As for the GunNasium, I don't think the level geometry was in agreement with the stock on the Artillery Luger. Even so, sniping with those irons was a thing. I just wish that the recording actually showed more of what I was seeing than it did, especially those early ceiling shots. Good lord.

I got some particularly strong scores during that day of XP grinding. Others did too. But none of them got anything as jammy as that XPR shot.")

So yeah, new game modes for some form of minor victory. While Gun Master isnt exactly perfect, it is certainly fun, and doing as well as I did with only minor hintage as to the weapon lineup was good enough for my seemingly poor standards.
As for the things that are flawed about Gun Master, theres the MK3A1 setup and the M320. If youre going to force people to stutter out two kills with 12G Frag rounds, at least give them Extended Magazines as well. It takes the entire supply of shells in my beloved Jackhammer to just take down a single guy... if youre lucky. And as for the M320 LVG... either give it direct impact kill powers or replace it with the stock M320 and give it 2 kills instead of one. Its an absolutely worthless piece of garbage and getting a kill with it requires a heavy dose of stupidity on the enemys part.
Irrespective of those nuances, its fun as hell. And the best part? No equipment. No Claymores, no beacons, no ammo boxes, no medpacks, NO DEFIBS. This is what Team Deathmatch should have always been like, but instead they insist on leaving in equipment which promotes camping and chokepoint-based fights unlike anything Ive ever seen before in a shooter.")

This whole event was madness, and the fact that I got called to do this despite being retired from FTL for nearly three years apparently speaks words to how resonant Insurrection was within at least some parts of the community.
Im just glad that I was able to, in the month or two of advance warning, finished what I had started and completed Insurrection, well, completely. Now I can rest easy (and also no longer have to deal with MV fanboys because bloody hell).")

While I didnt beat it on my first try (that was aborted due to random event losing crew, and the second one was instant unavoidable Zoltan with Ion and two Beams), this vessel was just almost too cheap to use. One scary moment halfway through aside, it was pretty much a textbook victory.")
