Bodycam Footage Of An Alleged Intoxicated Man Pointing Flare Gun At FWC Officers During 2024 Gasparilla Parade.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) officers encountered an incident involving an alleged intoxicated man pointing a flare gun. While conducting water patrol on a marked vessel, the officers observed a blue and white Yamaha vessel operating dangerously close to the shoreline and other boats. They activated emergency lights to conduct a stop on the vessel registered to [REDACTED].
Approaching the vessel, officers instructed the operator, identified as [REDACTED], to put the boat in neutral. Instead, the operator reversed sharply towards the patrol vessel. Upon boarding, officers requested safety equipment including life jackets, registration, and a fire extinguisher. During the inspection, [REDACTED] initially attempted to hand over cash before providing the necessary documents and life jackets for the eight occupants.
As the inspection continued, [REDACTED] produced a flare gun and despite warnings, pointed it in the direction of officers multiple times. Officers noted signs of impairment and requested [REDACTED] to undergo Standardized Field Sobriety Tasks (SFSTs), to which he consented and was subsequently arrested for boating under the influence.
Following the arrest, the vessel was released to [REDACTED]s wife and another passenger. [REDACTED] was read his Miranda Rights and transported to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Substation, where he refused to submit to a breath test after being read implied consent.

![Police Call Parents After They Bust Them Partying
On August 12, 2023, Florida Fish and Wildlife Officers were conducting water patrol along the IntraCoastal Waterway when they spotted a vessel traveling south with the operator clad in a wet suit. They decided to initiate a vessel stop both to check for resources and conduct a boating safety inspection.
Upon making contact with the operator, later identified as [REDACTED], the officers inquired about their catch for the day. [REDACTED] proudly displayed a lobster they had caught and revealed another lobster and a fish stored in a cooler near the helm. When questioned about any additional resources in the cooler, [REDACTED] mentioned a fish from the previous day. However, upon opening the cooler, along with the fish and additional lobster, the officers also noticed two empty alcohol beverage cans.
Further investigation revealed that the cooler did not belong to [REDACTED]. A search of the stern hatches led to the discovery of 25 empty alcohol cans and bottles in the starboard stern hatch. Concerned about the operators sobriety, the officers requested [REDACTED] to board their vessel for a breath sample test to determine if they were operating the vessel under the influence.
[REDACTED] claimed not to have consumed any alcohol. However, subsequent breath tests using a Portable Breath Test (PBT) device yielded readings of .024 and .022 respectively, indicating a blood alcohol content above the legal limit.
