Having filmed this monastic site I had visited over the years with time to spare on the Antrim Coast Road, I found a real story in the farming folk who care for this site and tend the farms around it. As it turns out this farmer, Hugh McDonnell, was also a friend and work colleague of John McAlister of Cushendall village just around the bay. I hope they get to meet again and catch up on old times - it's not far on that vintage tractor.
