Arch Linux has released Archinstall 4.0, a major update to its official menu-based installer. This update introduces a new text-based user interface (TUI) built with the Textual framework, giving the Arch installation process a more modern and cleaner terminal experience.
In this short video, we quickly go over what’s new in Archinstall 4.0, including new features, improvements, and important changes coming to the Arch Linux installer.

We also briefly cover the Archinstall 4.1 update, which removes the NVIDIA proprietary driver option after the transition to the nvidia-open-dkms module.

Archinstall 4.0 will also become the default installer in the Arch Linux 2026.04.01 ISO, so if you're planning a fresh Arch installation, this is an important update.
