One of my favorite songs from Splatoon 3. It's like a cross between Chirpy Chips and Wet Floor in style. I love the unconventional chord progression - I've noticed this synth pop fusion style of music has been coming back in the 2020s in various games/anime. For my cover, just like last time, I typed everything into MML (shown in the video).
Since I saw some questions before, I'll clarify: the highlighted parts on the screen are the notes that are currently playing. The text is basically just writing out the notes similar to sheet music, but there's so many fine details and I've carefully crafted everything down to every instrument and effect.
I know some people in chiptune that use MML, although I think it's way less common than other creation methods. I think the benefit for me is that as opposed to a tracker (which is super linear), MML lets me build a song as a physical space and layout (if that makes any sense). I like that I can leave comments, quickly copy/paste, and after years of programming, I certainly have the patience for it.
