The first is an Oriental, hybrid piece of music combining some traditional Japanese elements with rock. "Fighting Spirit" gets its main intensity from the heavy percussion and traditional Japanese Koto (the plucked strings). To add more of an intense rock element, we have a Baritone guitar in the background pulling some chugging notes.

Secondly we have the unnamed "Sad Noir Saxophone." I'm not sure how I came up with this particular piece. I was playing with the guitar notes first, then pulled up a Sax, which I don't use all too often, and this just kind of happened. I remember vaguely wanting to create something that had a noir kind of touch to it, but nothing more than that loose thought.

The third track is a classical kind of outing that I imagined could be playing at some sort of well-to-do Victorian party. Hence its name "Punch and Powdered Wigs." This has a bit of a minimalist approach, as in there isn't a lot going on. I imagined a small, live orchestra playing while people danced in an old-timey, very proper way.

Our next option is "This Way Lies Time." It's an ethereal, fantasy kind of piece. I felt lost in a world turned upside down and inside out. A terrifyingly magical place where things didn't make sense, yet I was stuck trying to navigate out of this nonsensical maze. I think you can feel an underlying sense of danger here, as in this place isn't where you'd want to be, but there's also an enchanting element that's almost trying to lull you to a state of peaceful contentment. No doubt to relax you and finish you off while your guard is down!

The fifth is an intense, Sci-Fi battle track currently without an official name. It comes right out rocking with some fast cello, rocking bass, gliding piano and some moving synth elements bouncing around in the back. About halfway through this one, our lead changes from the space-like synth to some french horns to help us through the fight.

Next up we have "Clear Skies and New Life." This is a calm outing marking the arrival of spring. It's been getting warmer where I am. The bees and bugs are starting to come out. The grass is growing. The plants are sprouting. So we have some calming piano and strings to help ease us into the transition. Some flutes take over about halfway through and I can just imagine laying in the grass with the sun basking on my face.

Lastly is "Monster's Lair." This is an intense, atmospheric track probably best suited for an underscore situation where you don't want the music to take too much away from what's happening on screen. We have steady, almost march-like percussion that is droning us onward toward danger. We have monster and scream sound effects. Perhaps there are others down here being torn apart in different areas of this cavern. Or maybe it's just the remnants of poor lost souls who have perished long before we've arrived. Who knows?

I'll start a private poll for the second tier and higher to cast your vote for the piece you want finished. Voting will end April 28th, so you have plenty of time to decide! Whichever track wins will be completed by the end of the month.

Thanks so much, everyone for your patience and continued support! I hope you all enjoy!
