Applying Decals to a Weathered Boxcar usually requires some time alone. It is fairly simple if you are willing to apply a clear coat, or two, to eventually finish it.

Note: You can also use Isopropyl Alcohol to remove undesirable acrylic paint if you want to help brighten up decal font and graffiti decals, etc.

Tamiya Acrylic Clear Coats (use the recommended X-20A Thinner).
X-22 Clear (apply this "gloss" finish before the decals go on).
X- 86 Flat Clear (apply this after the decals are on if you desire a flat finish).
Note: You can still weather the finish even when it is considered to be finished. You can also remove some of it carefully with Isopropyl Alcohol.
