Forging Station | Apply Force Upon Impact - Unity DOTS Physics @ForgingStation | Uploaded March 2021 | Updated October 2024, 3 minutes ago.
Hello! In this video we will explore one possible way to add force upon impact, using DOTS Physics.
The cannon video did not have any force added to incoming enemies, rather simply destroyed it. I plan to implement a similar solution there but this is a barebone implementation of how to add force upon impact.
The float variable in WallComponentData is optional if we let the force deplete naturally. I tried doing this but for some reason, it did not work for me and the cubes kept experiencing force. I had no choice but to add a tag to stop applying force.
This is something I will look into, and update the code if I figure it out.
This implementation with the actual cannon is going to look different as there is one more thing that needs to be done before applying force there, need to change the identified enemies from kinematic to dynamic to let the physics simulation take effect.
