This video took way too long and I don’t even like it that much. Crying /hj 🙁

Bokuto’s parents didn’t argue often, but when they did, they often let their emotions get the best of them. They’d say hurtful things they didn’t mean, but that would lead the other to believe they didn’t mean the apology either.

Bokuto watched in silence behind a separate wall. Unable to bring up the courage to stop it and unable to move from the spot, he continued to stare at the bickering couple. He could only wish the next day would be better.

To his surprise and joy, his wish came true. They apologized to each other, even though his mother was still skeptical of his father’s apology. His father’s responded by planting a gentle kiss on her face. And it worked.

Now in high school, Bokuto couldn’t help but think back to that day upon the sight of Akaashi appearing as miserable as they had. Bokuto got over their lost match rather quickly when he realized his friend had begun to cry. He knelt down, reaching out for the raven haired boy who swatted his hand away. Hurt, Bokuto fell silent, retracting his hand. Akaashi looked at him in shame, quickly apologizing and accusing himself of always making mistakes. Bokuto yelled. He hadn’t meant to seem angry, he was just trying to reassure the younger boy, though it had come off ruder than he’d expected or wanted. Akaashi began to apologize again, but before he could, Bokuto was the one saying sorry. Again, he thought back to that day. Akaashi opened his mouth again. Whether it was to apologize once more or to say something else, Bokuto didn’t give him the chance. He’d already responded the way his father had to his mother’s wary expression.

And it worked.
