How old was Mary when she had Jesus? About 12 to 16 — the marriage age in ancient Israel, and the Bible sets no age of consent at all. An apologist called in demanding one verse that proves it — then brought a proof text of his own, and it turned on him.
In this call-in clip an apologist disputes the claim that Mary was a child, and demands a single example of a child married anywhere in the Bible. We cover the marriageable age in ancient Israel, whether there is an age of consent in the Bible, and what Numbers 31 and Deuteronomy 21 actually say about captive women.
