MAGA mythicists made a rap diss track aimed at me. It's somehow worse than you're imagining. Watch what happens when conspiracy-flavored 'mythicism' tries to attack actual scholarship — and accidentally exposes the entire anti-intellectual core of their movement on a beat.
Jeff for Truth and Vanilla Gorilla — the MAGA-aligned wing of the Atwill thesis crowd (the conspiracy strain that claims the Roman Empire invented Christianity as a psyop) — dropped a rap diss track about me called 'Roaming the Block.' My co-host and I break it down line by line. Every substantive attack in the song is somehow a self-own: they mock advanced degrees, sneer at peer review, accuse mythicists of saying 'everything is a scam' while not understanding what mythicism actually is, and — best of all — make fun of me for using PowerPoint. There's also the matter of what 'Roman the Block' is even supposed to mean. We work through it. Mostly we laugh.
