Born in Bangkok and raised in Khon Kaen Apichatpong Weerasethakul studied architecture in Thailand and film in Chicago. His work has mostly been exposed in museums and galleries until he finally made his way to cinema. In 2010 he won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film festival. Most of his films deal with very subjective memories. To us Apichatpong Weerasethakul spoke about remembering films and creating films from memories.
