Andreas Dresen has picked up the difficulties between East Germany and West Germany in various ways and is now well known for his keen sense of characters and dramtical turns. In our interview he discussed the term authenticity and explained his idea of a cinema that can wake up the audience in a way Bertolt Brecht did.
