↡ Blackstone's Edge Bouldering ↡
This was the first experience bouldering at Blackstones Edge for James and I. We met Dan and Charlie at the car park around 11am, it was a miracle we were only an hour late after James had inadvertently plugged in the wrong White House pub to the sat nav - an easy mistake to make…
There are a bunch of cracking little problems at Blackstones, all spread out along an edge which takes around 15 minutes to walk along. At the Hueco boulder we found a selection of excellent warm-ups with good landings, and soon we managed to tick Ape Horror after being suitably embarrassed on the technical vert walls. From here, we moved towards the end of the crag and managed to collectively flash Swingers, which is a very soft 7a, and Dan and I added the extension for 7a+.
On our way back towards the exit, we briefly stopped at the Trig Point Area. Here, we struggled to find friction on The Lushering and instead opted for the right-hand side variations on the wall, which were Con Air and Done Years Ago. Both routes start on the good ledge and finish via the juggy scoop up and right, Con Air is the dyno variation eliminating all holds between the start and finish.
