An Antlion (family Myrmeleontidae ) -- maybe a pit-trapping Antlion (Myrmeleon sp.) -- nears the end of its life as it twitches on the floor of the breezeway at the visitor center at Attwater Prairie Chicken National Wildlife Refuge, in Colorado County, TX, USA.
I assume this individual probably completed its life's mission and will live on in the next generation of Antlions.
