“Phoniks is a 23-year-old producer from Portland, Maine. Previously he and Anti-Lilly collaborated on the 2014 album “Stories From The Brass Section.” On “It’s Nice Outside” Phoniks returns with more of his signature jazzy beats.
Those pieces of hip-hop history on the album suggest influence and appreciation but the production shines because of jazz. (…) Individual songs aside, the album is a story sewn together by voicemails left by friends of Anti-Lilly which help marry the narrative and introspective aspects of “It’s Nice Outside.”” — Lemon Wire, Bobby Wilson, August 24, 2017

I been looking for the sun for 7 days
But all I see is this rain
That’s been coming down
Peeped the sky, all I saw was gray
Should I leave or should I stay?
‘Cause my inspiration to paint these pictures been limited
My colors ain't many, can feel them dimming
Another page, in my book of life
I been tryna climb these obstacles
Are they real or optical illusions?
Man I can't say where I'm headed
But where I came from
You make the bed that you lay in no matter what dream you chasing
And I’m chasing, I ain't running away
You gotta know the difference
A coward dies 1000 times, it’s all scientific
I only got one life to live
And I don't know what’s the distance I gotta run
Just like Nipsey, I marathon
Mothers losing they sons and they daughters
It’s like the sun and the water evaporated just to do the same thing
Will the cycle ever change?
I’m from the land of the slaughtered
Where they locking up our fathers
Tryna lock us up disorder is all the order we know
The law and order been ordered to cut us down ‘fore we grow
And they poisoned our seeds, when mother nature clashed with father time
I found a second to rhyme on my environment
And try to find the beauty that surround the shit
Wondering around my state of mind and what I find
Is that it’s so much shit to find, as I try to expand my knowledge
My prescription from Phoniks, procussion, trumpets, the sonic vibrations
We like a band that play for SEGA, but it’s not a game
Suffered a lot of pain, so I’m grateful for what I gain
A different cloth, learned from mistakes, even when they left a stain
This shit was made for me, stress my momma
But I’m knowing that she pray for me
Stuck in the eye of the hurricane, swerving, tryna fly
Ii ain't certain what’s in my way
But I know I gotta maintain through the rain
Counting my blessings, thankful for another day
Use every second tryna find my way up out this motherfucker

![Turnover - Much After Feeling (Lyrics)
Turnover, a band that emerged as a force in the emo and pop-punk scene earlier this decade, are now running the risk of being mistaken for a chillwave project. The Virginia Beach combo has been gradually relaxing their sound over the course of their career, and the first two singles from their newly announced album Altogether continue the pursuit of vibes that developed over the course of 2015’s Peripheral Vision and 2017’s Good Nature.
The album arrives at the top of November, and our first exposure to it comes in the form of new songs “Much After Feeling” and “Plant Sugar.” The former, which arrives with a video by Jennifer Juniper Stratford, sounds like something that might come out on Captured Tracks. In fact Turnover remain with longtime label home Run For Cover and continue to work with producer Will Yip, whose clients tend to err on the visceral side. “Much After Feeling” is more about moods and textures, though, Austin Getz cooing gently across its soft palette of guitar and keyboard sounds. - stereogum, Chris DeVille, September 9, 2019
[The song] explores “the sacrifices necessary to stay connected despite being separated by geographic distance”. - DIY mag, 10th September 2019

Elsewhere for an occasion I forget
Noticing it feels
So much like the last one
Wonder if we’ll miss each other again
Working in the city
Takes all your attention
Always need a little bit to adjust
Now it’s coming down
Even more than last time
Hard to know if you’ll be wearing too much
After feeling how the
Temperature is inside
I know that they’re asking you
If you really want to be there holding on
Wait a minute
When there’s something going on
Are you happy elsewhere
I want to stay out
I’m wide awake
Everyone I know here came
I’m thinking about a different place
It’s somewhere nice but far away
I want to stay out
But when you’re gone
I miss the heat always being on
The moments here now
But not to stay
Do i try to chase it
Someone said it shouldn’t be hard to forget
Tried to but I can’t
Remember the last one
Know we’ll probably miss each other again
Being in the city
Takes up my attention
Pretty soon you’ll have to go
Only got a minute til you’re going on
I know that they’re asking you
If you really want to be there holding on
Wait a minute
When there’s something going on
Are you happy elsewhere
I want to stay out
I’m wide awake
Everyone I know here came
I’m thinking about a different place
It’s somewhere nice but far away
I want to stay out
But when you’re gone
I miss the heat always being on
The moments here now
