Nova Scotia, like Vermont, has enjoyed an exemplary summer, with what little rain there was falling silently by night, and almost endless sun by day.
Fall, however, is rapidly descending, along with a bumper crop: of books, reviews of which start up again weekly after Labour Day; and programmes, which our old friends at Vermont PBS (of thirty years' standing) are themselves preparing to unleash.
It all bodes well for what promises to be a season to remember. We hope you will stay the course with us, and that you will take the time to write, both positively and less so as the occasion demands. One person's private library does not necessarily reflect another's, and comment is always welcome.
In the meantime, from the Hoare house to your house, thank you for rejoining us and a toast to the season ahead!
