Annabel Lee was originally published in the Richmond Examiner in August of 1849, and after Poe's death in October of that year, the poem was published in the New York Tribune, then in the Southern Literary Messenger in November. This poem was read from "Great Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe".
Poe, born in January 19, 1809 is best known for his poetry and short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and the macabre. He died at the age of 40 on October 7, 1849.
