Animal Farm (72 min)
Synopsis: Inspired by the dream of Old Major, a prize boar, the overworked and abused animals of Manor Farm rise up against their negligent, drunken owner Farmer Jones and drive him out. Led by two young pigs, Snowball and Napoleon, they establish their own self-sufficient farm. The laws of Animal Farm, such as "No Animal Shall Sleep in a Bed," "No Animal Shall Kill Another Animal" and "All Animals Are Equal," are prominently painted on the barn, and soon the animals are cooperating to run the farm smoothly. As the farm flourishes, it begins to slide into a dictatorship when Napoleon uses his secretly-trained guard dogs to kill Snowball and takes control of the farm.

Trivia:
• Based on the 1945 novel of the same name by George Orwell
• The rights for a film adaptation were purchased from Orwell's widow Sonia after she was approached by agents working for the Office of Policy Coordination (OPC), a branch of the CIA that dealt with the use of culture to combat communism.
• John F. Reed, animation director for the film, previously worked at The Walt Disney Studios as an animator on such films as Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Bambi.
The Copyright Laws of the United States recognizes a “fair use” of copyrighted content.
