You know what really helps your claim to the throne? Marriage! Baud & Ayla are going to get married this gaiden chapter while you get to do the usual song & dance of talking to party members to see how they're doing.
As for the wedding itself, you get to choose who you want to officiate the service. Three choices here which are Albert, Ferdinand, and, if you're on the non-Dawncaller route, Zakarias. Each choice has some different dialogue with Ferdinand's being quite amusing.
It's not just different dialogue you get though. You get an item depending on who you picked...and it's not just some random consumable, but a one of a kind item,
If you pick Ferdinand, you get a Love Potion. You'd think it'd be a bit of a joke item, given Ferdinand's status, until you realize it grants a unit of your choice +10 luck permanently.
If you went with Zakarias, you'll get the Lumina staff. S-rank staff that, when used, heals all alies on the map to full hp and removes all status ailments. One use, but there's a catch...bring Zakarias to any map after using the staff and he'll recharge it, letting you use it again.
The one I went with though is Albert. He hands over one of the thought to be lost ancient regalias of the Lightbringer clan, the Starfall tome. It only has 10 mt which is pretty awful for an S-rank tome, but it might as well be 20 mt due to the stat boosts of +10 mag & luck it grants Aylanda. This does affect the range of her staves too while it's equipped.
Oh, and Starfall also grants her the Miracle skill while equipped. If she's above 50% of her max hp and takes a hit that would be fatal, she's reduced to 1 hp instead.
Regardless of whom you choose, Baud & Ayla both get the Betrothed skill. If either one is adjacent to the other, they'll get an extra 5 damage on their attack. Aylanda is going to abuse this in a couple chapters let me tell you, heh.
