Today I take you through how I approached drawing someone else's character; and for that I chose Professor Farnsworth from Futurama, whom I might use in a potential future animation.
First I downloaded some example images from the internet, then sketched over the top of them, to work out some proportions, starting with the head, then the full body. Then I tried a few sketches, before drawing a single final image.
What I'll do next week is to create my own character sheet (model sheet / cheat sheet), detailing some of the proportions, to help me consistently draw him. And then try out some different mouth shapes, ready for lip syncing and a little bit of animation.
