For the last two months I have been trying to make an HW-32A work so that I could take the next step and add the JF3HZB analog dial. That did not prove fruitful ... sometimes the patient dies!

In my searching eBay up pops this SBE-34 that was missing the Collins Filter, not working and sold as parts. Well, the bonus it was less money than a Junker HW-32A. Having a spare Collins filter was a big plus in the decision to make an offer.

It arrived on 6/25/2025 and after about a half hour of work this was the result. A simple peaking of the IF and Mixer transformers was all that was required. Several pots are noisy, and the Voltage regulator needs an adjustment of R42. I did put in a new set of tubes and it get 60 watts output which to spec for 40 and 20 Meters. I did not test 15Meters

When you know stuff, you can do stuff!
