Casa Grama — Architecture That Extends Into the Landscape | Studio Arthur Casas
Set within Fazenda da Grama in Itupeva, São Paulo, Casa Grama is a 1,800-square-meter family residence designed by Studio Arthur Casas. Completed in 2025, the house responds directly to its gently sloping site, spreading horizontally across the landscape through interlocking volumes, split levels, generous overhangs, and a strong connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
At the heart of the project is a dramatic 11-meter cantilever containing the office, suspended above the main entrance and forming the porte-cochère below. Natural ventilation, abundant daylight, motorized brise-soleils, and a restrained palette of stone, wood, plaster, and metal reinforce an architecture shaped by both environmental performance and material continuity.
The interiors combine pieces designed by Arthur Casas with works by important names in Brazilian design, including Sérgio Rodrigues, Jorge Zalszupin, and Carlos Milan, while the architecture incorporates photovoltaic panels, lighting automation, and passive environmental strategies.
In this film, we experience Casa Grama through a poetic and cinematic journey, moving across its changing levels, cantilevers, materials, light, and landscape. The film reveals a residence in which architecture, structure, nature, and everyday life come together as a continuous spatial experience.
