Tonight on the AMSTREAM it's another exclusive with the final version of a new Amstrad game...
⭐️ALCON 2020⭐️
🕹️ The 25fps Final Version! 🕹️
Most of us will be familiar with Ocean/Imagine software's arcade licence "Slap Fight", a rather sub standard shmup released back in 1987. Slap Fight was a very popular coin-op and it was a big shame the Amstrad got such a poor conversion. So 2 years ago Abalore Games released their first remake as "Alcon 2020" (taking the name of the US release of Slap Fight which was ALCON) to great praise! But they decided to improve on it further.... and 2 years later here we are with the final version with new improvements but most importantly an increased frame rate to a liquid smooth 25 FPS!!!!
Abalore Games have been shipping out the physical editions of their game to people in the community, but tonight they have very kindly provided the very FIRST .cpr ROM file of the final edition of the game for use in emulators to the Amstream for us to play live on stream tonight!!
So I will be attempting to try and loop/beat the game live on the Amstream tonight! Can I do it? Tune in and find out!!

🕹️ The 25fps Final Version! 🕹️
Most of us will be familiar with Ocean/Imagine software's arcade licence "Slap Fight", a rather sub standard shmup released back in 1987. Its all about YOU tonight! Continuing our recent community focussed series on the Amstream, similar to our request nights, but tweaking the format a little and allowing for other fun stuff - like a quiz later! Weve had a long run of Amstreams where its been new games and other special features so I wanted to do something more fun and inclusive for everyone tonight!
Therefore... I want to hear (and then play) your favourite Amstrad CPC games! Plus your reasons why you love them so much! Its a kind of a request night BUT with a twist and a theme... you have to be selected first! For that, we have a random wheel picker where everyones name goes up on! We spin the wheel after each game and see who it chooses next! That way its fair and it could be anyone next! Just make sure you say hello in the chat and Ill add you to the list!
Later on in the stream its the return of a favourite Community AMSGAME!.....

For a fun short section of the stream its Amstrad game music quiz time! You in the chat will have to guess the name of the game from the Amstrad game music being played, who will be the quickest to answer? Tonight on the AMSTREAM we have another new Amstrad game!...
⭐️🧛 RAMIRO THE VAMPIRE! 🦇⭐️
Its nice to see so many new Amstrad games coming out! And now from the always great Mojon Twins comes Ramiro The Vampire (or to give its full original Spanish title Ramiro El Vampiro: En El Bosque Del Suspiro!) an excellent little platformer with plenty of new novel twists to separate it from many others in the same genre. Ramiro being a vampire can be hurt by sunlight so can only survive for a short amount of time outside so you have to be quick! He can also float whilst jumping by pressing a special key. Also around the dungeons are characters to interact with who can open special rooms filled with dangerous traps - survive for long enough and you will get a special reward! All very intriguing and I cant wait to play it!!
Then its time to Challenge Xyphoe in...

Do you ever find it crazy that some big movies from the 80s never had official licensed home computer games? From Arnies Commando to even Mad Max being completely ignored... but both inspiring many countless un-official games we all enjoyed! A body of work criminally overlooked is most definitely director John Carpenters! (Well, one terrible attempt was made with Big Trouble In Little China but we dont talk about that!!) Surely his classic Escape From New York would be perfect for a computer game? But what if I told you that we DID get a game (an un-official one of course) in all but name, and that its been right under our noses all these years in France from UBI Soft of all companies! Under the name .... Manhattan 95! THIS is the game we are investigating and longplaying here...

Tonight on the AMSTREAM we have a special new updated version of...
⭐️🤵 SLY SPY - SECRET AGENT! 🤵⭐️
The original conversion of this fun coin-op classic (and outrageous James Bond 007 rip-off) from Ocean was actually really decent - it was pretty fast and smooth, it scrolled nicely for the most part, had gorgeous colourful graphics and near enough crammed in all the levels and bosses! There was just one problem - in game it was deathly silently!! No sound fx, no music - nothing! HOWEVER just this week, like Q providing 007 with much needed help - Jean-Marie on the CPC Wiki forums has arrived and converted the Atari ST music over to the Amstrad and using 128k of memory has put the tunes into the game for all the levels! So tonight Im turning into XySpy to check it out and attempt to longplay the whole game to the end!

⭐️Request Night Part #2⭐️
Tonight its part #2 of our SHMUPS series on the Amstream! That is of course shoot em up games on the Amstrad CPC, and that definition of what constitutes a shmup can be hotly debated. But essentially were looking for games that feature you in some kind of vehicle (usually a space ship!), where the screen is scrolling in one fixed direction (exceptions made for single screen ones like Cybernoid though!) and you take on waves of enemies.
Tonight you in the chat will be making requests and suggestions, well play the game and then well vote on it - with the purpose of eventually nailing down a top 20 then top 10 list of the best shmups on the Amstrad, which in turn Ill make a special video for the channel! So YOU have a hand in crafting and shaping that!

Request Night Live returns! Due to having a very early start on Saturday, this will be a really short stream and finishing early so... request night is back, and theres no theme! So anything goes in terms of requests and what we talk about! When we go live, come in the chat and request Amstrad CPC games for me to play! Simple as that!
Tonight I will only be able to get through a few games, so Ill just pick out the most interesting sounding ones that get suggested after each game and I wont keep a list of requested games to work through. So dont be disappointed if I dont get to your game - as you know, most streams I do I end up with a section for game requests, so theres always another stream!

🏊♂️ Léon Marchands Olympic Challenge 🏊♂️ Fresh from French swimmer Léons incredibly successful Olympics this summer comes a game in tribute to him from Praline & Team Galaxy (Roudoudou on coding, Titan on graphics and Pulsophonic on music/sfx!) with stunning presentation! You have to take control of Léon over several swimming events by waggling that joystick! Can you beat the time required and achieve the gold medals? Or will you break your stick and/or your arm?! Lets dive in!
⭐️ Osotos ⭐️ The latest game from Japanese coder Inufuto who releases the same game over dozens of computers and consoles simultaneously, not just the Amstrad and also some extremely rare ones too! Osotos is the latest and looks like maybe the best game yet! A fun and clever old skool arcade platformer, that appears to be a clever mix of Pengo and Lode Runner!

I wanted to do a more community focussed stream tonight, so a pure request night with no theme tying us to anything is a good way to go! Plus I may have to finish a little earlier tonight because of a busy Saturday, and needed a more relaxing stream after a stressful busy week!!
As usual, one request per person and we try to favour the more unusual and interesting games that havent been featured much (or at all) on the Amstream! And from people new to the community. Of course we like to play a few classics too! Ill probably pick out a batch of a few games at a time, and dont be disappointed if I dont get to your game - theres not enough time to get to everyones! But there will *always* be more Amstreams for requests!
