Connie Baxter Marlow and Andrew Cameron Bailey give a brief overview on The Awakening World, November 26, 2025, Thanksgiving Eve, of the elements of grief and gratitude and friendship that resulted in the 3-day harvest celebration in 1621 we now call The First Thanksgiving.
From Connie and Andrew's perspective it was part of the 54 years of peace and friendship between the Mayflower Pilgrim Separatists and the Pokanoket Wampanoags that gave birth to the American mind, spirit and democracy, which Connie and Andrew call "The First Great Synthesis" between Europeans and the Native Americans here on Turtle Island.
