Surprises come in all different shapes and sizes! So, when Richard and I received amazing news last week, we wanted to share it with everyone.

Bomi was my English student for most of the time I was a college professor in Korea. But she wasn’t just any student; she was one of my MOST memorable! She was very lively in any class that I taught, and often helped others become more engaged when English may have been their least favorite subject.
When she reached out to me after seeing some of my posts on Facebook and insisted we hang out, of course I agreed! What a pleasure to reunite in my new home of #Italy with someone who is also fairly new here!
We decided to meet in #Lucca since there was a #Comiccon Festival taking place called Lucca Comics. We couldn't find each other right away, but once we finally did, it was so good to finally see her again!
My pregnancy has been a memorable one for sure. My baby was conceived in Florida earlier this year, and after selling our home there, we spent most of the summer in NY. Now that we’ve moved to Italy and live here, it’s so wonderful that I have reconnected with a friend who was once a student.
This meeting and dinner we shared with Bomi and her husband Marco was an exceptional experience that I’m so happy we could share. I’m beyond grateful she does not live too far from us, and that we will be able to see each other again and again in the future.
