Our actual move to #Italy started with our belongings all packed up in the car, four large suitcases to be precise plus two carry on backpacksa, two cats in their carriers, and six hour drive from Richard's mother's house to JFK International.

From there, we went through security with the kitties, and then waited several hours to board. We very fortunately had purchased business class on Neos Air for our seven hour flight over the Atlantic, a very clutch move if I do say so myself. Once arriving in Malpensa, we collected out luggage, and found the shuttle bus in Milan Central Station, at least an hour away from the airport with morning rush hour traffic. We arrived at the station, unloaded all our suitcases from the bus, and slowly proceeded to make our way into the station where our wait would consist of about another five hours before our train heading south to Tuscany departed. Stephanie making her way through Milan where the shuttle bus dropped us off to the train station pulling two large suitcases, back pack strapped on her back, and with a cat in a carrier on the luggage, AND #pregnant as she is was honestly terrifying.
After having our first coffee, we found a spot on the floor of the train station to one side, sort of barricaded ourselves in, and let the cats out of the carriers on their leashes. Maki didn't actually leave the carrier. Minho sort of freaked out for a moment, and went back into his carrier pretty quickly too.
While on the floor of the station, one by one we found a Telecom shop replace our American SIM cards with a Italian SIM. We both received new service, new telephone numbers, and continued waiting. We arrived about 7am to Italy, and our train headed to Tuscany was set to depart at 1pm.
Close to the time we were set to board, we made our way on the platform. It was a busy day at the train station, and certainly wasn't easy to maneuver our way to board. Stephanie and Maki lagged behind. Our train car was several hundred meters down the platform. I pulled my luggage to the opening of our car, turned around and didn't see Stephanie. I headed back down the platform to help. When I finally found her, a young Italian man was pulling her suitcases for her towards our train car for her. Stephanie was breathing heavy.
Since arriving, it's been a wonderful and crazy experience nearly every day. We are loving it that we get to live through such a unique and new variety of experiences. We are learning new language. We are making new friends. And, of course, we are experiencing some challenges as well.
Moving to a new country more than seven months pregnant proved to be exactly how one might expect: super challenging. #Pregnancy has also thrown into the mix a wrinkle that adds flavor to everything.
