Amber Palace & Diwali Fireworks - Magical Day in Jaipur
Jaipur was all about history, colour, and unforgettable experiences. We started bright and early at 7am, ready to explore the city.
Our first stop was the stunning Amber Palace. Walking through its grand courtyards, intricate architecture, and soaking in the views over the lake and surrounding hills felt like stepping back into India’s royal past. Every corner was more beautiful than the last.
After that, we visited Indigo Naturally, a fascinating textile workshop. It was amazing to see traditional weaving and natural dyeing techniques in action. I picked up a gorgeous new scarf, while some of the others bought carpets to be shipped home.
Next, we explored Jantar Mantar, the historic 18th-century observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II. Seeing the massive instruments and imagining how they were used to study the stars was truly captivating.
We then wandered through the palace museum, taking in more of Jaipur’s royal history, before heading into the bustling Jaipur bazaar. The vibrant sights, colours, and energy of the city were incredible.
After a quick dinner, we ended the day on a magical note with Diwali fireworks on the hotel rooftop, watching the night sky light up over Jaipur. It was the perfect way to take in the city’s charm from sunrise to sunset.
