What's up everyone? It's Johan here, your Swedish Bartender!
When's the last time you had an Amaretto Sour? Well, it's time to make one today! This is how I make mine, with a small addition of bourbon and Giffard Apricot Liqueur. It is DELICIOUS. And as I mention in the video, if you have a friend or guest at the bar that wants to keep the alcohol level down (I know, crazy right?!) just simply omit the bourbon and up either the Amaretto or Apricot and you'll have a super tasty little low ABV cocktail. Never fails! It's also a great way of making a regular Whiskey Sour less boozy ;)
Amaretto Sour 2.0 Recipe
1 dash Angostura Bitters
1 oz (30ml) Amaretto
1/2 oz (15ml) Giffard Apricot Liqueur
3/4 oz (22.5ml) Bourbon (Preferably a high proof)
1 oz (30ml) Fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 oz (15ml) Aquafaba (This is the water from a can of chickpeas and it is a replacement for an egg white which is great if you're vegan!)
If you want it to be sweeter, just add a1/4 oz (7.5ml) of simple syrup!
Dry shake, shake with ice, strain over rocks. Garnish with a lemon twist and a maraschino cherry if you have it.
