Did you know it's not uncommon in François’ Langur troops for other female monkeys to lend a hand raising the infant François’ Langur?
This is known as allomothering and is a common behaviour amongst many species of monkey, as well as elephants and dolphins!
Not only does it let tired mum have a break, but it also benefits the development of the infant as they are exposed to experienced members of the troupe!
