Celebrating Curlew Day! A moment to shine a light on the conservation of curlew species around the world. Of the nine recognised curlew species, two are sadly likely already extinct, making the protection of those remaining more important than ever.

While Bush Stone-curlews aren’t true curlews, we think Uma makes a pretty perfect ambassador for her lookalike relatives. With her big eyes, haunting calls, and nocturnal habits, she’s helping us tell an important conservation story.

Next time you hear that eerie call at night, you might just have a Bush Stone-curlew nearby 👀
