The Allen Public Library is closed to the public as of 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12., so we can prepare to move back to our home location! We are excited to open this new chapter at the renovated facility! Thank you for all of your patience and support you provided while we operated out of our temporary location this past year.
No materials will be due while we are closed for the move back.
Starting Fall 2025, you can see our newly expanded library at 300 N. Allen Drive! Visit AllenLibrary.org/Expansion for complete details and up-to-date information.
Important Dates
Fri., Aug. 22 - Due dates for materials will be extended. We ask patrons to keep your checked out items while we are closed and wait to return them after we reopen this fall.
Fri., Sep. 5 - All holds will be suspended and no longer fulfilled until we reopen at our expanded location. Patrons will not be able to place holds on items that are "in" on Library shelves.
Fri., Sept. 12 - Last day the Allen Public Library will be open at its temporary location.
Fall 2025 - The Library plans to open. Please see our expansion webpage for up-to-date information about our opening.

Need a library card? Complete our online application to get a temporary card number. Temporary library cards are valid for 90 days.
If you have questions or need assistance, please fill out our Ask APL form. A staff member will respond in 1-3 business days.
