The Allen Police Department is seeing a significant increase in the use of electric motorcycles throughout our community. Officers are encountering riders operating these vehicles on public streets, sidewalks, parks, trails, and other areas where they are prohibited or being operated unsafely.
APD encourages parents and guardians to understand the difference between an e-bike and an electric motorcycle before purchasing one for their child. Knowing the law can help prevent citations, impoundments, injuries, and more serious criminal charges.
