Buried in the pages of Dave Arnold’s Liquid Intelligence is the Dr. J, a cocktail so interesting on paper I had to try it. This drink utilizes milk washing, a process primarily used in clarifying milk punch, but here we’re milk washing just the spirit. The purpose is to impart whey, which gives the drink a silky mouthfeel. This drink certainly has "extra steps", but the end result is certainly worth it.

Dr. J
2oz/60ml milk washed white rum
.75oz/20ml super oj
.75oz/20ml simple syrup (1:1)
1 drop vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

This is the verbatim recipe for orange super juice, provided by its creator:

Orange Oleo Citrate:
25g citric
2g malic
80g sugar
130g orange peel
Combine all in a soup cup, let rest for
60mins, add cold water and blend. just like
the others.

I assume the volume of water is one liter.
