Wilfred Kozub @IlfredWhen is a renowned multi-media artist who upcoming new show encompasses a collection of paintings, alongside his brand-new solo album!
It's been four decades since Wilf co-founded the quirky Edmonton new wave pop band, along with guitar player Jamie Philp. The band had tremendous success in the 1980s with radio hits like "I Could Get Closer To You" and "Thunder on the Tundra", and they've continued to release acclaimed records ever since. Along the way, Wilf has also pursued a parallel career as a visual artist, working in a variety of mediums.
As summer passes into autumn, Wilfred's new solo album The Last Vibrations of Summer is just out in the world, and he'll pair up the album release with a set of new canvases -- including the album's cover and namesake, a painting entitled The Last Vibrations of Summer.
This art show and album release take place at Edmonton's Trinity Gallery on October 7th, featuring live music and refreshments.
Wilfred dropped by CKUA to chat with Grant Stovel about his upcoming art show and album launch celebration.
