Albany County has launched a street psychiatry pilot to bring mental health care directly to people experiencing homelessness, the county said.
At a press conference on Monday, July 27 the program was officially launched and is designed for people disconnected from traditional mental health services. The county says the team will deliver care in streets, parks, encampments, shelters and other community settings.
