FERGUSON, ALAN HUTTON

Alan Hutton Ferguson died September 29th following a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Sarasota. He graduated from Tabor Academy, Marion MA, and attended the University of Miami and the University of Florida.
While at the University of Miami he developed an interest in photography. Upon his return to Sarasota he established Alan Ferguson Photography Studio on 2nd Street. He was recognized as a gifted photographer, and won numerous awards for his work.
Alan is survived by his wife, Teresa Jones, daughter Molly, his parents, father, Arthur and wife Meade Ferguson; mother Deirdre Ferguson, brother Jim and wife Lisa Eldridge Ferguson, all of Sarasota; sister Ann McLain and husband Barry Seaver of Durham NC; sister Lee McLain of Chicago, Ill; aunts Allis Edelman and husband Erwin Edelman of Sarasota; Rae Reasoner of Bradenton and Gloria Robert MacFarland of Knysna, South Africa.
Services will be held at 4:00PM, Thursday, October 4th at St. Boniface Church, Siesta Key.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Tidewell Hospice, Ringling College of Art and Design, or the Humane Society of Sarasota County.
