HD is a good friend! And so is 60 fps ^^
Feeling quite happy with this one, as it's my first AE-only edit!
Welp, so this started yesterday after I heard this song in an Insta edit and remembered that I had also heard it before. Soon after, I was suddenly hit with an idea that this could be good for an Aki edit.
Tbh I only read the lyrics after the edit was already finished. I didn't understand a good portion of these lyrics, before, but now I can see that they are sure something XD
Anyways, I was inspired to edit in AE, and something about Aki just seems to give off a vibe that makes me wanna edit in more of a 3D style, so that made me really hyped ^^ Also what made me hyped was the fact that I've been very happy with all of my Aki edits so far, and this one isn't an exception ^^
I'm honestly surprised that I can still find clips and pictures to use for these edits even after all this time, when I _still haven't actually seen Aki in 5D's._ XD'' But welp, I found some ways around this fact. I had actually downloaded two RAW episodes for this project, and uh, I spoiled myself even more by doing so, but at least I muted the audio as I was scrubbing trough the clips.
The editing process of this was just very straightforward and there isn't too much to mention about it. I tried Universe in AE for the first time, so that was a first. Apparently I also really made this resemble my SV edits bc tbh I can see a big switch in smoothness throughout this video. Like, by the point it gets to the ending with the remaining pictures and the credit, I've forgotten that this was made with AE. But I made some keyframes less smooth so they can be visible and not end really quickly.
I feel the happiest with the flickers and the parts with the pictures here.
Yesterday I edited this until I was hella tired and was already losing motivation and wasn't sure if this looks good or not. But this morning I fixed stuff up and finished it later.
I had some trouble with this bc there came a point where I felt like it needed something else for intensity, but I simply couldn't think of what that could be. Eventually I tried to settle for an extra film damage effect and a slight vhs effect.

Anyways, this idea was something spontaneous that came to me about 2 days ago. I had seen edits done in low fps on Insta before, and I guess simply the thought of doing one, myself, was what motivated me here. I had never tried this before, so it all felt very fresh and exciting c:
And for my chosen song here - I went on a trip fairly recently for a few days, and this was one of the songs I heard on the radio away from home, and I felt like it could have neat summer vibes for an edit like this ^^
And as for the media! I chose Owari No Seraph bc I was looking through the media I have, and I thought about which media this song could suit the most, and eventually I decided that it could be this one :3
From there, this project quickly took flight, and my motivation throughout making this was very consistent, to my surprise.
Upon first adding the effects, I was a bit surprised to see just how choppy everything looked, but I felt like that was the whole beauty of this all :3
Im also happy that I decided to add a brief part with typography here, since I like the outcome and I feel like it adds more to the edit! :3
I also found an easier way of doing slide transitions for solid colors, and I uuuhhh cant believe I hadnt tried it earlier XD
So yeah! editing like this was surprisingly fun and also easy :3
I rendered this a good amount of times tho, thanks to some little things I wanted to fix here and there. Like it being too bright. I think I rendered it about 5 times? But thats okay, since the render time was very very quick, so the wait felt like nothing at all, and since it was that fast, I at least wanted to put full effort into it ^^ This version that you see took 2 minutes and 58 seconds to render in the end :3
Oh and just for fun, I decided to set the project fps to 60 after it rendered, to see how it would look, and boy was it amusing?? XD You can very clearly see that it isnt meant to be watched in 60 fps XD Like the keyframes for the solid colors and text were very smooth, but something REALLY happened to most of the keyframes for the actual clips XD
Thats probably bc the lower you drop the fps, the higher the stutter duration gets, so if I had to like, end off a keyframe one millisecond before the end of a clip, bc otherwise it doesnt play fully at 12 fps - it just ends up looking strange in 60 fps, and if one certain tiny shake did more motion blur in 12 fps - you can look at that in 60 fps and be like what is that XD
Oh and the reason why this probably has a 4k option is because the resolution of this edit is 2000x2000, so that most likely confuses YouTube XD

The ending of this series left me feeling happy and fulfilled, but, nearly to a whole nother level! Seeing it gave me so much energy, and enough energy to throw this together really quickly! x3
The ending was absolutely adorable, I couldnt get enough of the wonderful timing EVERYWHERE, and for this whole series, the intense moments were on point, and even if the dub annoyed me a little during the last couple episodes of season 3, the Japanese season 4 fixed this for me, and in general, Im just really happy that Ive completed watching something I started watching when I was little cx
This idea was super duper spontaneous! But I think this song kinda...fits him here perfectly! Even with it being spontaneous, tho, I wanted it to evoke emotion :3
I wouldve finished this late at night, but I decided to go to bed after I finished setting down the clips and the voice clips. And now I think that was a good idea, bc if I wouldve not done that, this wouldve been so much more half assed.
I decided to add some extra stuff and fix some little things, so if I wouldve originally finished editing in 3 hours, I decided to add in one more hour of doing stuff, just so this is not too plain.
One little problem I had with the voice clips was that Vegas was muting the audio of the episodes even if I KNEW they had audio. But thankfully my gf suggested a converter and it worked like a charm XD
Oooohh boy but the biggest challenge was rendering this. Nearly gave up on that and decided to leave this for whenever I get a new laptop! The clips were flickering all over the place, when they shouldnt have, and the clips started disappearing and appearing as a green screen, and not even rendering this could fix that. I tried multiple things. I saw that one of the most popular fixes for this was going into preferences and GPU acceleration and turning it off? But...The thing was that...I didnt even have anything to turn _on_ in the first place - my only option was off, so...lololol
My next idea before just deciding to fuck around with this a bit more and then giving up, was to open this project in Vegas Pro 15 and render it on there. Holy shit??? Im glad I got that idea??? Bc it worked perfectly!! And the rendering time was a blissful 37 minutes. That is so quick, yall! XD I wouldve definitely anticipated it to go over an hour or more! XD
Alright, so now Ill be keeping that Vegas Pro 15 method in mind :3
Next uuuup! I think I might get to watching YGO 5Ds, but the subbed version, definitely. Or I might also check out some other anime. The other ones I have in mind are Angel Beats and Code:Realize ^^

If you have ever wanted to see user RockOnRatchet95 upload a bad edit, then todays your LUCKY DAAAAY! XD
This had been in the making since early-mid 2022, simply because i hadnt been continuing it at all lol XD
Actually, my girlfriend suggested this idea to me, and i wasnt gonna back down from this challenge, even if i knew i wouldnt have a good time lol XD
First order of business - i was wondering just how awful i could get- XD like, do i just use effects that i dont like, but still edit well? Well, i decided to go with, making everything shoddy- XD And! Just as soon as i started to feel like i like something in what im making, i counteracted it with adding the most cursed effects somewhere else, just to keep myself on my toes XD
But yes, this all started with me setting some eh clips, and using an audio that i had slapped together in mid 2020, i- XD this project technically has 4 years of weirdness in it XD Bruh not even gonna lie, i set some of the clips in 2022, didnt come back to it for a year, played back the edit, and fORGOT I WAS THE PERSON who made the audio lmao Then i slapped some terrible oil effects, the beginning text and one cookie cutter, and called it a day. The i came back to this one night and finished it one go- HELP WHAT POSSESSED ME- XD
This is the next thing i edited after doing my previous uploaded edit- GREAT- kdjhkajha
(I actually finished this the next day after finishing that one, i think)
Not everything i used in this video is what i hate or what i find unsightly - for instance the first bit of text, or even the cool grungy look of the clips! I was wildly switching between thinking about the look of the effects and how they are Used, bc technically, a whole bunch of effects are good, most of them are, but it depends on how they are used, to me personally, i think.

I feel like I should clarify real quick that I have NOT watched VRains yet, and I truly dont know much about Yusaku, but I just came across these models yesterday and I happily downloaded them.
Thats pretty much where this started. Ive seen these models being used in other MMD videos before, and I must say that these models look rather incredible! To me, it feels like this is exactly how you would imagine an anime character looking if they were made 3D.
From there, I tried out some motions on this model plus others that I had downloaded yesterday, and went out of MMD for a while, but later, it finally hit me. The reason why I couldnt render MMD videos was literally because I didnt have the newest version downloaded, and each time it would tell me to download the newest version I was like but isnt _this_ the newest version? XD So I got around to downloading that one, and then I decided to put together this model with a motion and camera that I had previously downloaded, and then add in some kind of stage. I dont know how to switch between models in MMD alone, so I rendered two versions of this. One with Yusaku, and one with Playmaker (Forgive me if thats not his actual name). It didnt come to my mind that I could try doing facial manipulations on Yusaku, so only when I got to doing this with Playmaker did I decide to play around with those and see what I can get. Boy that was fun! So yeah, the blinks, smiles, winks, and whatnot were done by me.
Thankfully the rendering process for these wasnt bad.
After rendering both of these, I decided to go into Vegas and edit it a bit from there.
The thing was that I didnt have a wav file to import into MMD, so I had to sync up the audio in Vegas, but I think I mightve synced it a little weirdly, um? Idk, at points it feels fine but at others it feels like the beats are too early.
All and all, now that Im seeing the result, Im actually pretty happy with it, for it being my first actual MMD video ^^
