The University of Kentucky Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment celebrated a Topping Out Ceremony for the Martin-Gatton Agricultural Sciences Building on Thursday, Dec. 19, 224, in Lexington. This special event celebrated the placement of the final beam, marking the completion of the building's structural phase.

Ahead of the ceremony, the final beam was painted white, allowing members of the Martin-Gatton CAFE community to add their signature to the beam and be part of this milestone.

UK Martin-Gatton CAFE broke ground on the Agricultural Sciences Building in March 2024. The Martin-Gatton Agricultural Sciences Building will be where science education meets innovation. It will be the college’s central student center and primary teaching facility, with highlights including:
• 15 expansive, state-of-the-art classrooms
• a café and space for students to gather
• outdoor areas linked to the refurbished Cooper House and the Beam Institute
