Meet the crew behind Alma Martyr: Gracie Heinjus, co-writer and director, and Braie Bakar, co-writer and production designer.
Gracie and Braie wrote and developed the film in collaboration with a crew that resonated with the characters' experience, making it a story that went beyond the original concept and became a shared creation that embodied a strong visual world, with storylines choreographed to create a unique story world.
The duo shares how blocking and design became a process of its own, bringing the script to the screen in a way that encapsulated the power dynamics between characters.
The Bachelor of Arts Screen: Production Graduation Year 3 Productions culminate three years of learning, commitment to story and honing the craft. The graduation projects are driven by students’ ideas instead of the set briefs proposed through the various production exercises led during the course.
