After a period of extreme weather, including strong winds and loads of rain, we take stock & carry on with all the work that needs doing!
In this episode, everyday life on the quinta continues. We look at how we’re managing woodland to reduce wildfire risk, how & why we’re slowing water as it moves through the land. From cutting back scrub and deadwood to shaping trees for the future, it’s all just part of building a more resilient landscape.
This is real life in rural Portugal — wind, water, mud, chainsaws, and all!

After much planning, we sold up in England in 2021 and moved to rural Portugal to start a new life.
Living off the land, learning new skills, and becoming more sustainable has been challenging but incredibly rewarding.
