This is a quick video tutorial from 2Dgameartguru on creating dynamic picture frames for mockup photos.
This video explains how to create and adjust photo and picture frames of various types [plain, profiled, or textured] using Affinity Designer.
This can easily be created with other software tools such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Inkscape with minor alterations and different names for the tools used.

![Affinity Designer Mini Tutorial - Consistent Gradients on Fills and Strokes
This mini video tutorial from 2Dgameartguru.com is about gradients across fills and strokes. Affinity Designer has two settings for the fill tool. The context is either fill or stroke.
It gets a little tricky when you want a consistent fill across both [filled shapes and strokes]. This video shows you how to use swatches to store the gradient information and apply it from fill to strokes as well as using helper shapes to align the gradients to match.

![Inkscape Timelapse - About Screen v1.3 entry
This is a quick timelapse of my 2nd entry to the Inkscape About Screen Contest [https://inkscape.org/~SpriteAttack/%E2%98%85a-long-journey].
I tried to showcase what can be done in Inkscape with simple shapes and without fancy drawing skills. Using only a limited set of tools to create a consistent yet rich look. The piece relies heavily on gradients, tapered, and power stroke path effects on simple lines and basic shapes [circles and rectangles were the starting point for most elements].
Organizing a design of this complexity was key. The improved layers and objects panel was a huge help in keeping the 2500+ objects that make this scene under control.

![Inkscape Tutorial - Creating a Mosaic Effect with Pattern along Path
In this more advanced video, I create a somewhat realistic-looking mosaic effect in Inkscape using the path effect Pattern along Path.
Starting with the rough shape of the goldfish using circles and the node tool, I create a mosaic pattern [and some variations] to use with the Pattern along Path effect. By using lines matching the shape of the fish, I bend the pattern, fill in smaller shapes with the Pen Tool, and finally separate all into individual tiles to colour with the Dropper Tool.
Enjoy!

![Affinity Video Tutorial - Creating a Neurographic Effect using Compounds and Contours
In this video, I create a neurographic style pattern. This can be achieved in all versions of Affinity. The functions needed are compounds, contours, layer effects, and symbols.

![Affinity Designer Tutorial - Advanced Compounds - Create a dolphin from circles
In this video tutorial from 2Dgameartguru.com, I am using compounds to create a dolphin - just using circles and keeping it fully editable.
This video explains the use of compounds using circles to create shapes like the dolphin with ease - and keeping them fully editable. The Adobe Illustrator [and now Vectornator] have a shape-building tool that gets a lot of hype. Heres my approach in Affinity Designer using compounds. My 2 cents on the matter are pretty clear - compounds are a lot easier to work with, fully editable, and non-destructive. These are major benefits to my workflow.
Most of the functionality shown in the video can be created with other software tools such as Adobes Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Inkscape with minor alterations and different names for the tools used.

![Affinity Designer Mini Tutorial - Creating and Applying Watermarks
In this mini tutorial, I show you how to create and apply watermarks in different ways:
- as embedded files [you could also use linked files]
- as assets
- as bitmap fills using the gradient tool
Adjust the watermarks to suit the image/ design below by altering the opacity, changing the layer blend mode, adding layer fx like the colour overlay or gradient overlay, or adding adjustment layers.
