We finally got here. And to commemorate this milestone, in an adventure that WILL NEVER END! I bring you one of the most requested songs I’ve ever gotten.
Adventure’s End, from Mario & Luigi: Dream Team!
ITS FINALLY HERE!!!! And I am beyond excited to share this remaster with you all. It’s taken me about 80-ish hours total to complete all of this. From the music, art, video editing. It was all worth it. This remaster was one I honestly wasn’t gonna do for a while. I saw that I was approaching 5k subs and realized I didn’t have a HUGE SPECIAL SONG planned for it. So I started rummaging around my catalogue. Searching and panicking hahha. And then I remembered all the comments telling me to do “Adventure’s End”. I was hesitant at first because I’ve never even played Dream team and thought I wouldn’t like adventures end. Then I took a deep listen to it, and heard MAJOR potential. So I started working! 😈
I knew exactly how I wanted it to sound once I started off with the church organ and choirs. Once that drop hit and those high strings came in…. The way they weeped on the track… it all started coming together slowly, but surely. Every day I’d just grind out different sections of the song. Adding little details here and there to create my take on this beloved track. I loved working on the drums and bass specifically. And probably hated working on the piano the most HAHAHA. The velocities weren’t working right so I had to use a lot of volume automation to make sure it wasn’t too loud or too quiet at some points. Then there’s the guitars. SOOOO fun to work on my GOODNESS! I think I’m just a sucker for electric guitars…. There’s just so much to unpack in this remaster that I can’t even begin to explain every little thing I did, so I’ll let you guys be the judge 😎🙏
Now as for the art. MAN THIS ONE WAS SOMETHING. I started off totally differently. It was a scene where Dreamy Bowser was far in the background, Mario and Luigi were standing side by side on the ground getting ready to attack. I scrapped it. Didn’t like it. So I started the version you’re seeing right now! I wanted it to feel like this big “movie-like” battle haha. That’s why I gave the brothers such heroic poses. And of course, had to give my man Luigi the spotlight! ⭐️ Even working on the background was incredibly fun and interesting through every stage. Dreamy Bowser was a little more difficult to do though. I didn’t really know how I was going to make him change colors in the video, so I THOUGHT about just making him all one color, then hue shifting it. But I realized that would look genuinely awful HAHA. So I put a rainbow gradient and hue shifted that to create this moving effect. My favorite part about drawing Bowser here though has to be the details of his head. I made his horns extra sharp and rigid, his hair flowing and messy, his eyebrows heavily arched to make Bowser look even more monstrous. I’m really happy with how it all turned out. And I sincerely hope you guys are too!
