"Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty." That is a quote from the Greek philosopher Plato who said these words over 2,000 years ago. Here, in Paris, France, was the exact spot where the 20th century's most defined dictator, Adolf Hitler, stood victorious over his invasion of France. It was a defining moment in the war that shocked the world. During his stay in Paris, director Yoko Higuchi was able to stand where he stood and took the time to film this short documenting this moment. A sense of fear shook him to his core. The very idea that this truly evil man stood right where he was standing was terrifying to him. Hitler was a man that shook the world in many ways (mostly horrible) and was one of the faces of the 20th century. We hope you enjoy this simplistic short meant to capture a moment of history through the words of the mad dictator.
