In this short, we build a clean cartoon eye in Adobe Animate by laying out simple shapes across separate layers: eyeball, pupil, top lid, and bottom lid. I also show how to bend the eyelids with the Selection Tool so the curves feel natural before we move into masking later.
Steps shown:
Create an Eyeball layer and draw a perfect circle (hold Shift)
Add a Pupil layer and center it
Add Top Lid and Bottom Lid layers using the oval/shape approach
Use the Selection Tool to bend/shape the lids
Tip: Lock the head layer so you don’t accidentally move it
