The School of Military Engineering (SME) is a pivotal training institution of the Australian Army, located at Holsworthy Barracks, New South Wales. It serves as the primary training centre for the Royal Australian Engineers (RAE), focusing on developing the technical and tactical skills of Sappers, including combat engineers, engineering officers, and trade-qualified electricians, carpenters, plumbers and plant operators.
The Specialist Engineering Wing (SEW) provides training for experienced soldiers and officers, including certification for demolition range OICs and Safety Officers, watermanship and bridging skills and CBRND training.
